SHA is thrilled to announce that we will be providing a limited amount of funding through the SHA Scholarship Program for students, who are current SHA members, to attend archaeological field schools. The application package must be complete to be considered for funding. Please refer to the application form for information on what to include in your application package.
The Field School Scholarships Program places priority on awarding scholarships for students to participate in field schools that provide instruction in Hawaiian or Pacific Archaeology and archaeological field methods.
May 19, 2025 deadline to submit a Field School Scholarship application for Summer 2025.
Awards will be determined through application review by the SHA Scholarship Committee. Each year, the committee identifies the number of scholarships that will be awarded as well as the amounts granted. Typical awards are between $500 and $2500.
Applicants should be aware that if they receive financial aid from their university, their eligibility for various other sources of aid may be affected upon receipt of a scholarship. Applicants are encouraged to consult with their university’s financial aid office before applying.
