Position Summary

International Archaeology, LLC is seeking an IT Support Assistant to join our team.  This position involves assisting the IT Manager and specialty IT contractors with a variety of tasks within a small IT department. Duties include assisting with on-site IT, standards-based cybersecurity tasks, information security policy, inventory and records, record keeping to support a departmental budget.  Minimally half-time position, non-exempt; based on performance, fit, and company needs there is the potential for a full-time position.

Essential Job Duties and Functions

  • Report to the IT Manager and coordinate with outside IT contractors
  • Assist with cybersecurity standards compliance (NIST 800-171, Cybersecurity Maturity Model) to include compliance-related record keeping and assisting with implementing security controls
  • Assist with updating IT policies
  • Document decision-making processes
  • Coordinate training of all staff on IT policies and cybersecurity standards
  • Conduct departmental bookkeeping and track departmental expenditures at the direction of the IT Manager
  • Provide on-site IT support by maintaining existing hardware and software, supporting users with common problems, and purchasing small replacement items
  • Help author instructional documents for common workflows or tools
  • Maintain accurate inventory for equipment, software licenses, and subscriptions
  • Use Google Workspace to manage tasks and communicate with team members
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience doing similar duties and some technical IT experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, networking and basic cybersecurity practices
  • Solid proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be a U.S. resident or have a valid U.S. work permit.

  • Experience with cloud-based business applications such as project communication (e.g. Slack, Asana), expense tracking, ticketing, e-signatures, workflow management, project management is a plus
  • Experience with information security topics (Controlled Unclassified Information, Personally Identifiable Information, Federal Contract Information, cybersecurity incidents, encryption, risk mitigation, legal liability) is a plus
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management software is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting wage is between $22-$27/hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Paid employee health plan (medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision), if at least half-time

Job Type

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday half-days; on-call for emergencies

Ability to Commute/Relocate
