Cultural Surveys Hawai‘i, Inc. (CSH) is a locally owned archaeology firm with offices on multiple islands. The Office Assistant will provide on-site support for our Kailua, O‘ahu office.
Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
- Administrative support
- Answering the office phone and taking messages
- Making travel arrangements
- Front desk support (receiving deliveries, welcoming guests)
- Copying, binding and mailing of hard copy documents
- Assisting with the company’s Access database
- Assisting with online meetings (Zoom, Teams, WebEx)
- Assisting with the production, sharing and organization of digital documents
- Assisting staff with various tasks (errands, research questions, copies)
- Assisting accounting department with various tasks
- Experience with Windows 10
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
- Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Access, Teams, and PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with online meeting platforms: Zoom, Teams, WebEx
- Excellent communication skills, both in speech and writing
- Able to operate with a high level of professionalism
- Strong verbatim note-taking skills
- Organized and able to focus on tasks at hand
- Deadline driven and responsive to tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to solve problems independently
- Ability to take and follow directions
- Ability to interact professionally in an office environment, as well as maintain sensitivity and confidentiality for complex, sometimes controversial projects
- Background in archaeology, historic preservation, or a related field is a plus; general experience in research and report writing also useful
- Understanding of Hawaiian history, culture, and language preferred but not required
Minimum Requirements
Full-time availability (35-40 hours per week) during business hours (8:00am-4:00pm)
Working in-person at our Kailua, O‘ahu office
