ARCHAEOLOGICAL TECHNICIAN POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
Pacific Legacy, Inc. is a cultural resources management firm dedicated to providing quality archaeological and cultural resource management services. We help our clients navigate regulatory compliance processes and provide an integrated historic preservation program to assist in overall planning from design to mitigation. Pacific Legacy has an immediate opening in our Kailua office for an archaeological technician.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology;
- Some prior experience in cultural resources management (CRM) or related field;
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations applicable to historic preservation; and
- Good writing skills.
The ideal candidate is able to:
- Perform archaeological monitoring, pedestrian survey, and excavation;
- Collect data using digital recording methods;
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff members;
- Contribute to laboratory analysis;
- Conduct research at a sufficient level to assist with producing high quality reports;
- Assist with consultation involving Native Hawaiian communities and other key stakeholders;
- Use software platforms including Microsoft Word and Excel. A working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or ArcGIS Pro is a plus; and
- Work in remote areas with rough terrain and changing weather conditions as necessary.
Compensation and benefits:
Salary is competitive and determined based on experience and qualifications (base rate starting at $22/hr).
