Position: Guam Archaeologist/Field Supervisor

Position Status – Exempt 

Location: Guam

Description:  International Archaeology, LLC (IA) is accepting applications for the position of Archaeologist/Field Supervisor in the Guam office (must have a valid U.S. passport or U.S. work permit [for entry into U.S. military installations] and driver’s license).  

This is a full-time temporary position (approximately 3 months, beginning immediately).  The term may be extended as needs and individual performance warrant.  The work will include archaeological monitoring, survey, and excavation.  A minimum of 5 years of archaeological experience is required; archaeological experience in the Pacific is preferred though not required.  The position requires work experience and skills sufficient to independently recognize surface and subsurface archaeological remains, assess the type of work needed to appropriately perform field documentation of the remains, and to efficiently carry out such documentation, which includes maintaining organized and comprehensive written records.  

Educational Requirements: Applicants must have a B.A. or M.A. degree in anthropology with specialization in archaeology or a degree in a related field.  

Pay: Hourly wage is $27.00 per hour. Benefits include one round-trip airfare to Guam, shared housing at no charge, per diem, and shared use of a company vehicle.

Position Status – Exempt

Description: International Archaeology, LLC (IA) is accepting applications for the position of Archaeologist/Project Director in the Guam office (must have a valid U.S. passport or U.S. work permit [for entry into U.S. military installations] and driver’s license).
This is a full-time temporary position (approximately 6 months, beginning immediately), with the possibility of it becoming a long-term position.
Must have at least two years of experience directing archaeology projects. CRM experience required. Pacific Islands experience preferred. Will conduct fieldwork and supervise archaeology crews, conduct survey, testing, and data recovery, write reports, oversee projects, and conduct laboratory analyses. Should have computer skills (Microsoft and Adobe software), experience using statistical software, basic GPS/GIS proficiency, a good sense of organization, problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, a strong determination to maintain project schedules, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Educational Requirements: A graduate degree in anthropology with specialization in archaeology, or degree in a related field.
